Something changed after you applied? Let IRCC know

nb editorial 19

Life does not stop while an application is being processed. If relevant information changes, check how to update your file.

Keep the application accurate

IRCC requires you to report changes affecting the information in an application in progress. These can include marriage or separation, a new child, a new passport or a change affecting eligibility. Provide supporting evidence where required.

Use the instructions for the update

Contact details, new information you want to send and documents IRCC has requested may follow different instructions. The web form is used for many updates, but it is not the answer to every situation. If IRCC sends a request, follow the method and deadline in that request.

Keep a copy of what you sent

Explain what changed clearly and identify the application concerned. Check the attachments, then save the update and confirmation with your records. A short note of what you sent and when can make later correspondence easier to follow. The purpose is to keep your file accurate; an update does not promise faster processing.
