One last check before you submit

nb editorial 22

You have filled in the forms and gathered the documents. Before pressing submit, open the files once more and check what the officer will actually be able to read.

Check the upload instructions

File limits and accepted formats vary between IRCC accounts. Use the instructions in your own account, together with the personalized checklist or application guide. Do not rely on one size limit quoted for every portal.

Read each file after scanning

Are all required pages there? Can you read the stamps, signatures and dates? Is the order correct? Check again after compressing a file, because a smaller file is not helpful if the details are unreadable. Where documents must be combined into one upload, follow the instructions for that field.

Save the final version

Compare names, dates and document numbers with the forms. Keep translations with their supporting material. Save the application, the files you uploaded and the submission confirmation. An upload being accepted by the system does not mean the evidence is sufficient or that the application will be approved. A final careful read is time well spent.
