Trying to find an update on your application? First check which account or status tool applies to the way you submitted it.
Not every application uses the same tool
IRCC’s status page asks what you applied for and, in some cases, how you applied. Follow those questions to the correct account or tracker. Opening unrelated accounts can leave you more confused.
Have your correspondence ready
Keep your submission confirmation and IRCC messages nearby. Follow the instructions for the relevant tool. If linking an application is available, the information you enter must match the application records.
Read the messages as well as the status
Look for document requests and response dates in the account. A general processing estimate cannot tell you the progress of your own file. If the expected information is missing, use IRCC’s instructions for that application. Keep login details secure and use official sign-in pages. A simple record of the account, application number and correspondence makes the next check easier.
