A provincial nomination can be part of a permanent residence plan. Start with where you want to live and the exact stream you are considering.
Each stream has its own requirements
Participating provinces and territories nominate people who meet their economic needs and intend to live there. Their requirements and nomination capacity differ. “PNP” is not one application with one checklist.
Understand both stages
IRCC describes Express Entry and non-Express Entry routes for provincial nominees. The route depends on the stream and whether you qualify for the relevant federal Express Entry program. A nomination is part of the process; there is still a permanent residence application.
Check the route against your plans
Write down the province, stream name, eligibility requirements and whether it is accepting applications. Consider your actual settlement plans alongside your education and work history. Keep the provincial and federal instructions in separate checklists. An old stream name or another person’s experience is not enough to show the same option is available to you now.
